For the Sig P220 the Hogue overmold grip with finger grooves had always been my choice until realizing those grooves were pushing a knuckle into the trigger guard. As luck would have it I happened across these grips which are both made by Hogue and use G10 which has been proving to be a great material for the job. Not only do these grips have a unique texture and that nice medallion but they also expand upon the textured area to provide just a little more traction overall compared to the standard Hogue lineup. At first I wasn’t so sure about having a more subtle texture pattern but I’m a fan of checkering over wider but more intense texturing. The idea of taking an existing pattern and changing the scale intrigued me. I gave these a try, figuring if they were good enough for a 10mm then they’d be good enough for a .45. As it turns out, they sure are. The people behind Gray Guns have been great to work with when I’ve needed some assistance, as well!
